Care Act 2015

Hi Everyone,

I trust you all had a great Easter break. Spring has finally started here in a sunny England. This is always a time for optimism, a time where we look forward to a great summer.

On the theme of optimism, the UK Government has just changed the law, with the Care Act 2015. Wherever you are in the world, I am sure you will agree that, any development that increases the awareneess of the world to vital topic, is a good thing. This act basically gives carers and care authorities greater automony over how they receive funds and deliver care.

The problem is that these funds are dwindling across nearly every country in the developed world and beyond. However well intentioned your government is, the following facts remain –

1. Most countries are insolvent due to debt levels that will take a generation or two to pay back.

2. The population is getter older, so there are fewer workers to look after the retired and those on benefits.

3. Other social and medical issues, such as social housing and mental health will take a greater piece of the pie.

I started this website to empower carers to take greater control of your wellbeing. The good news is that we have the resources and power within us to do this.

Here’s to a great summer,

William Long
